As a kid, I was in and out of church depending on my family’s schedule. I believed in God, and I knew there was a guy named Jesus, but I didn’t understand why He really mattered.
Heading into high school I started hanging around people who weren’t walking with Christ, and it didn’t take long before I began agreeing with what they said and started prioritizing my relationship with them over my relationship with God. I began pursuing girls for the wrong reasons, and by my senior year, I was introduced to drugs. Once I got to college, those things just got worse. I found myself depending on them more and more. Deep down, I knew something was off. I knew I needed something to change, so I started thinking about joining a group on the UCF campus or finding a Bible study. That same day, Justin, a young man who is a part of Rock of Christ, approached me and invited me to meet for a Bible study the next week.

During those first few weeks we were meeting, I was still caught up in sin. But one verse we read—2 Corinthians 5:15—really stuck with me: "And He died for all, so that those who live would no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose on their behalf."
The more I sat with that verse, the clearer it became. On February 23rd I gave my life to Jesus and invited Him in as my Lord and Savior. Since then, I’ve been attending ROC, got baptized, and now regularly go to prayer meetings and small groups. The stress and depression that came with my old habits have been replaced with peace in the Lord. I’m continuing to grow in my faith, and I’m in such a better place now than I was even six months ago.
